Patricia cannot remember ever not writing, she has been doing it all her life. Born in Cumbria, north west England, she travelled widely with her husband and young children before settling in Kenya, East Africa.

After nine years in Nairobi working as a foreign correspondent and local editor, during which time she undertook major assignments relating to Kenyan affairs, for which she won literary awards, she moved to Mombasa to live on the shores of the Indian Ocean on its beautiful south coast.

Patricia now resides permanently there writing novels and poetry, but also does newspaper columns and undertakes special commissions on Kenyan issues and culture. She is at present working on her second novel, her fourth book of verse, and a study of witchcraft, its history and present day customs, in Kenya.

Patricia lives in a very laid-back atmosphere, driving around on a motorbike, swimming every day in the sea and walking along the beach (she acknowledges she is an inveterate beach bric-a-brac collector).

She reads a lot and has three dogs and a volleyball team - but her job, her hobby, her interest, her panacea for everything, her life work, her raison d'etre is -
