I lived and worked in Mombasa in 1995-1997, and have visited most of the hotels and resorts on the beach, I still remeber and admire the hospitality and the warmth of those hotels and their friendly staff. Jamal S. Ibrahim 29/8/01 Bahari Beach Hotel It is situated on the renowned Nyali Beach on Kenya's North Coast overlooking the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Bahari Beach Hotel is set within lush and colourful gardens, where palms, tropical flowering shrubs and bougainvillaea form a superb backdrop for the water garden and its streams and fountains. The Hotel's architecture was influenced by old Swahili Villages and built in traditional style from coral blocks with Makuti (palm thatched roofs). The main building contains spacious restaurants, a comfortable lounge bar with satellite TV, gift shop and gym. They are decorated with brightly coloured painting of the Masai people and furnished with a decor that makes intriguing use of traditional material. Each of the 100 beds is ensuite, individually air-conditioned and elegantly styled glass doors open to spacious terraces or balconies. We ( 2 adults / 2 kids )stayed last year from Easter Monday for 6 days at this Hotel. The Rate / offer was extremely good. My kids enjoyed the All-Inclusive concept and so did we, the parents who ultimately had to foot the bill. The Pool, the Table-Tennis and the Billiard-Table ensured, that the kids never were bored. The opportunity to order Sodas and Hamburgers with chips or other snacks, whenever they wanted and without having to ask the parents, was an unforgettable experience for the kids. If the Rates remain reasonable for redidents, then we certainly will come back! 17.4.01 Kurt Iten It was very good and I found my love in this hotel, but he doesn´t know it. I say it jet PETER I LOVE YOU! I came back in 3 Years. Pleas send me a letter to Germany! IN Love Stefanie Gebel 21/10/01 For 7 days good value, good bring girls to the room unlike other hotels where they charge you for an extra room, plus the bar is good and manager free and easy. So if your into woman and wine then check it out. Example it cost with breakfast 7 days $210 US. But its muslim no meat only the girls, but plenty of other places to eat. I shall returnHotel. Tony Finlay 24/8/01 Stayed here staff friendly but management rude and treats staff with no respect(Mr Dean) would not stay there agian becuase of him and his attitude to some guests and his staff, shame becuase general manger Mr Charles is nice, and the location is great come on Bamburi Hotel directors get a decent assistant manager. The staff work too many hours for too little pay, this I did not like so would while ever Mr dean is there not stay there again Carol 3/7/02 RECREATIONAL FACILITIES: Swimming pool, Beach Bar, Pool tables, Watersports, Conference Facilities, 'Club Coco' Disco, and Indian Restaurant, offering a value for money product, Choice of Supermarkets within walking distance, Variety of Restaurants and Night Clubs all within walking distance.
I visited this hotel for the third time this september and this time i took my whole family. we all cannot praise it enough. this was my first trip since the complete renovations and i must say that they have done a fantastic job. the rooms are of a much better standard than some of the so-called 4* hotels, and thee food was excellent. the thing that make this hotel special is the staff. everyone speaks to you! they are very friendly, work hard and cannot do enough for you. i have seen the service at whitesands, travellers beach and club and they pale in comparison. - well done bamburi beach hotel! and thanks for a fantastic holiday, my family and i will certainly return and have no problems in recommending this hotel to any visitors. Andrew Gough 22/9/02 Mielele Beach Hotel This hotel has now changed names and is now called Mielele Beach Hotel. I believe they no longer serve alcohol. Emma 4/9/07 I went to this hotel with a group of 22 people. We are all about 16-20years of age. It was at the end of an expedition around Kenya....i have to say this has to be the best hotel i have EVER been to. Everyone there was friendly, the beach was fantastic and needless to say there was a great atmosphere about the place. When we went there was a no alcohol policy, but i do believe there is a great bar or three down the beach (Pirates bar/club, very good for music). The food was good, although we normally made our own. There is a supermarket within a 15minute walk down the road with everything you need (its just like a supermarket in the UK). We found that matatus were a great form of transport as they stopped outside the Hotel, although say a price before you hop into one- normally about 25shillings to go to the supermarket! Anyway, even though im only 18, i am most deffinately going back here in the near future with my family....oooo and while you are in Kenya, and your out at a bar/club, ask for nordic ice) Giriama beach hotel in a very nice place to relax in and it's not far from mombasa town. What I like mostly about giriama is the fact that pool, bar and restaurant are all near the beach,I mean literary facing the beach. It's a good place to chill out. Khan 2/9/03 Hello Fellow Kenyan Lovers, I stayed @ Giriama hotel December 2003 & it was superb it's literally next to Tembo - Mombasa's top disco spot TEMBO & 5 steps away from Pirates beach. Its just nice. Can't wait to go back to Kenya again in December James 19/6/04 Kenya Bay Beach Hotel Hotel shabby and run down, much in need of rennovation and repair. Stayed in Deluxe room but more like standard room, dirty, shabby, worn out furniture, rusty shower, electrics hanging out of wall. Worst of it all, the management here are racist and prejudice. Stayed only one night and moved on to a better hotel. Don't go, the pictures and the information about the Kenya Bay is certainly misleading!!! Sheba 5/12/06 Mombasa Beach Hotel I stayed here in 1993 and loved it, especially the setting of the hotel. We stayed again in 1998 and it was dead. We were almost the only guests and the service was extremely slow. Has this improved again? Donna 11/10/02 Just got back from a holiday to this hotel with school. We all had a great time being in such a perfect location near all the big attractions and the sea. The views were wonderful and the services were excellent. Was well worth the long wait to go!!! Laura 31/10/06 we have just returned from neptune beach hotel in north mombasa, we were there for two weeks, although the rooms were clean the constant hassle from the room cleaners for money became unbearable, we were unable to feel comfortable on the beach again for the constant hassle of the beach boys, some of them were very hands on,we found some of the staff to be extremley helpful and pleasant unfortunatly there was no happy medium as the rest of the staff were down right rude, there were only two that we felt we wanted to tip- cosmos and eugene!! the food was awful and a number of other guests were eating out or buying from a supermarket and eating in there rooms. the brouchure said that this was a newly refurbished hotel, this seemed strange as they were closing on friday 14 th april for 3 months to update. we got a late deal so the price of our holiday was nothing compared to the brouchure price but if we had have paid the full price we would have been extremely dissappointed and would have asked to be moved. we would never travel with cosmos travel or go to another neptune hotel, not worth the money!!!! Sonia Wellard + Kevin Duckett 14/4/06 Stayed here in may 2002 had a great time, the staff are friendly and helpful, its very clean and good value for money. food is good but lacks a bit of choice. S.Crabb 15/8/02 Nyali Beach Hotel i spent 15 days leave there in 1954 when the mau mau trouble was on, and i have always wanted to return, until my daughter said wood i take her to kenya for her 21 birthday, yours sincerely , t.d.simcox, 15.7.01
(former Ocean View Beach Hotel) I stayed in this hotel last week, and i can highly recomend this hotel to any would be visitors to Mombasa. Very clean and the service was very good. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! S.Shuma 27/10/01 Oceanic Hotel very good friendly hotel, iv stayed there 5 times. Patrick Carthy, 11.07.01 Petuscha Garden Lodge Petuscha Guest House - after restauration in 2004 now called "Petuscha Garden Lodge" - is a splendid place for familiar holidays. My husband and I really liked this place at the North Coast of Mombasa Kenya. You'll find a wonderful big swimming pool in between a beautiful garden ambiance. Guests are friendly received in a generous lounge where people can meet for a nice get-together or a good cocktail before having lunch or dinner at Cha Cha Restaurant. The comfortable rooms are cleaned every day while you stay at the fantastic beach or while you relax nearby the pool somewhere in the generous garden plant. Every morning in the best way trained stuff serves freshly prepared breakfast on the family terasse of the guesthouse. For a cosy evening Cha Cha Restaurant and Bar is situated nearby the guesthouse. In the nice open garden restaurant fantastic international and local food is cooked. Only a vew minutes to walk you reach the small village of Shanzu Beach and the proper beach at Indian Ocean. Friendly taxi drivers can bring you to sights and shopping places along the coast. We will come back to Petuscha Garden Lodge at Shanzu Beach again having wonderful holidays. Jochen & Herlinde 22/10/05 Lovely run family hotel. Andrew Watson 27/10/03 Rana Cottages Rana Cottage is a very good choice. Only two stars, it has been rated but it deserves one more. Very relaxed atmosphere, a lot of privacy, monkeys around and facing the beach. What else do you need? It is self contained, no breakfast service but very spacious, clean,a porch to sit on and for the rest very comfortable. Relax around one of the three sparkling freshwater pools. Learn to dive at one of the best equipped diving centers in Mombasa or windsurf in the dream waters of the ocean. Other amenities include a hairdressing salon, masseur, shops, two floodlit tennis courts, conference rooms for 30 to 100 people and a business center in the hotel lobby. We stayed at the Reef Hotel Nyali Beach Mombasa January 2007 and we can't wait to go back! The best holiday we have ever had, lovely seaviews from our room, staff attentive ,food wonderful, entertainment good. Clean pools, plenty of sunbeds, go there you will love it. We were all inclusive and it was worth it. Look out for Kenneth, one of the waiters, he is the best, and will look after you. If you want to book trips ask reception to contact Julius at Mombasa North, he will give you a great deal, we boohed safari with him, wasini island, haller park, he even took us to a bar at Mtwapa to see Everton on the big screen, nothing was too much trouble. Polly English 17/2/07 We stayed at the Reef in January 2001, it was probably the best holiday we have had. The staff were excellent, food great and the rooms spacious and comfortable. The grounds were so spacious that we had a truly relaxing holiday. We are disappointed that the hotel is not featured in any package holiday brochures for January 2003 as we are going to return to Kenya this year. Dave Roberts 3/10/02 Royal Court Hotel hey folks if you are in central mombassa this hotel is very good freindly staff &very clean and with good security we have been to this hotel since 2003 you want be dissapointed. Mohamed 13/5/06 Serena Beach Hotel Activities: Tennis, squash, water sports, dhow cruises, glass-bottom-boat trips
Severin Sea Lodge Welcome to the Severin Sea Lodge, a dream hotel where the white sandy beach is lapped by Indian Ocean, and the cool sea breezes and the equator sun give pleasant warm temperatures all year round. The hotel has a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, and is set amongst lush tropical gardens giving you peace and tranquility and making your holiday an exceptional experience. Went here for our honeymoon in September 2002. Although we were on safari for 4 days our stay was absolutely fantastic. Could not fault the food at all, service was great at all the restaurants. Would go back in a minute. Jambo!!! Hilary Byers 8/7/03 That was the worst hotel that I have personally ever seen in my life! D Perera 16/6/02 Club Sun N' Sand For years Club Sun N Sand has enjoyed an unrivalled reputation as on of the Kenya Coast most luxurious all-inclusive hotel with most rooms having sea view of the famous Indian Ocean. The hotel's various facilities make your stay relaxing whether on business or leisure. I visited the Sun and Sand in May for the 2nd time - this time for 2 weeks - I have to say that this hotel has improved and the rooms are nice and spacious and food good - I can't fault this hotel for the prices it charges - its a fun kind of place perhaps not really for the romantically inclined. It is a little far away from the town of Mtwapa. The only critics I would say is that the hotel actively discourages guests from visiting the village of Kikambala and the bars and restaurants in the village. They also discourage mixing with the 'beach boys' saying they are dangerous and untrustworthy. I have been to Kenya many times and have never encountered any kind of trouble on the beach. Mary karisa Duce 2/8/01
I stayed at the Sun n Sand hotel in August this year. It is the 5th time that I have stayed in an all inclusive hotel and this hotel has to be the best that I ever stayed at. The staff were all so helpful especially the bar staff and Dennis Kiema who was the main man. The Sun n Sand is a top star hotel. Friends are like stars, you cant always see them but you know that they are always there. I look forward to returning next year. Tony Ladurner 9/9/01

HOTEL DESCRIPTION
REVIEW COMMENT
This hotel is somewhat unique on the Kenyan Coast. It is more formal and glamorous than the laid back tropical hotels more commonly found on these beaches. The Continental wall-to-wall carpeting, elevators, and an indoor piano lounge. Men arrive in business suits - it is not a place to wander around with sandy feet. The lobby is impressive with a high, huge atrium, marble floors, and fountains. There are 192 rooms on four floors. The carpeted rooms are comfortable and equipped with every modern convenience: telephone, colour TV, minibar, air-conditioning and a private balcony which is angled to give you a good view of the wonderful pool below and a glimpse of the sea. Other facilities include; many restaurants, conference facilities, banquet halls, a casino, and a sports centre with a health spa.

Together with my husband and friends, I stayed at Bahari Beach Hotel in February 2005 and I felt 'at home' from the first minute! A very lovely place, gentle people (staff and guest ;-)), good atmosphere, wonderful tropical garden and a sensational view over the indian ocean! For our next stop in Kenya, we will again go to Bahari Beach Hotel. Barbara 23/2/05
located 20 minutes from Mombasa town, 150 twins and double rooms, tiled floor, Arabian style furniture, AC, private balcony with sea view, bathroom and safe, outdoor whirlpool, diving lessons, glass bottomed boat excursions, squash, tennis, fully equipped gym, Safari bookings, fishing trips

I have just returned from a two week holiday in Bamburi Beach hotel. If you want a hotel that is cheep, clean and packed full of friendly staff combined with excellent food then this is the hotel for you! I found the staff all fantastic and really friendly, and I was always greeted with a smile. It was very sad saying goodbye as it was like leaving old friends. As a lone traveller I was worried that I might get lonely but that never happened. George and Leslie two of the pool side waiters made sure that I was always topped up with plenty of drinks. The Animation team where fantastic and those with teenage children will find that they never get bored. John and Jimmy where fantastic at getting every one involved in games, and even introduced me to other guests staying in the hotel. The food was excellent with lots of verity to choose from, the rooms where basic but always cleaned to the highest standard. I would defiantly return to this hotel and will be recommending it to anyone who is thinking of going here. Claire 2/9/06
This hotel is very good for families and couples. The staff are very good. Lookout for Gabrial; Sammy; Mary who are especialy good. The food is very good. We will be going back very soon. Tom@Janet Rooks ENGLAND. 29/1/07
Having visited the Bamburi Beach Hotel in December 2005 (please see my earlier favourable comments)My wife and I returned in November 2006 with our daughter and two grandaughters. Guess what... It was just as we remembered it. The staff actually remembered us. We were welcomed back like a long lost family. Our grandaughters took to John (animations). He actually got them to mix in with the others. A great achievement. Well done John. It would be wrong to single out anyone since all the staff were excellent. I took some srticles over with me to give to a local orphanage/childrens home and was taken to Baraka Childrens Home run by a lovely Kenyan lady, Trephonia Nzioka. All but one of the children are orphs because of HIV/AIDS. Well done Trephonia for your sterling work. She is embarking on relocating to a new home which is being built. If anyone would like to help her please contact me patrick.dipper@virgin.net. The Kenyan people are wonderful and theose at the Bamburi Beach Hotel are no exception. Patrick Dipper 11/2/07

Bamburi Beach Resort is a Travelers home away, feel at home in spacious air conditioned rooms in sedate lush green tranquil palm garden. Experience the magic of Bamburi beach Resort located on the beach on Mombasa's shoreline and just 25 minutes from Moi International Airport and only 15 minutes from downtown Mombasa.
My friend and I stayed here three times in two years and it was brilliant. The safari we went out was the most awe inspiring moment of my life. We were friends with a lot of the beach boys and saw a lot of the outside life of the hotel and into the villages. Does anyone know if Nancy Marshall stills visits the Bamburi. She used to spend a lot of her time there and was very well known by all the staff and past guests. I have fond memories of Kenya but do not know if i will ever return mabe one day. Gillian Clarkson 10/12/04

Stayed at the Bambouri Beach Hotel from 11th December to 24th December 2005. Made many freinds at this resort and have booked again for November 2006. Excellent freindly staff and wonderfull beach location. Recommended. Patrick Dipper 28/7/06
We stayed in Bamburi Beach hotel from 28 september until 12 october 2006. It was fantastic!!! Great staff and management every time friendly, nice and gentle. They treaded us so nice! Unfourtantely there are still people (guests) who thinks everything is aloud and slavery or kolonasition is still going on!! I was a shamed sometimes!! But we are coming back sure!! It was excellent there good food, nice rooms clean and a great place to relax and chill out. Eddy & Grid 15/06/06
23.11.06 we have never stayed in such a dirty place, the bathrooms are disgusting, and the hotel should be downgraded to 1/2 a star. its no better than a bed and breakfast in bognor on a bad day. lovely staff though, but the generator spewing fumes into the rear pool area and snack bar gets abit much. the beach is a no go area, day and night. the hotel know this and so dont put any furniture on it. dont go if you any standards, this will put you off kenya forever. which is a shame, the country deserves better. liam 28/11/06
Absolutley fab hotel, staff and location - will definately be back in 2007 - well done!!!!!! Julie Doggett 21/12/06
Amazing holiday, very much enjoyed. We met some great people there and always a happy feeling. Entertainers and staff were amazing and made the experience even more enjoyable, they helped you with trip choices and any questions about Kenya itself. The trips and safari's were amazing and is very much recomened! Olivia Seymour 25/1/08

it is a very beautiful hotel with good service but the only problem is the food which i recommend should be improved, otherwise i am impressed with it. Rushil 16/1/03
Abdul a very friendly, kind and sympathetic waiter. P.manager:keep it up, SaidI very friendly, note:my room had alot of mosquitoes, Mavice 07/07/03
I stayed here for 2 weeks in february. I had the best time. The room was excellent, we had no musquitos. The staff is very friendly and amazingly rapid. But the DJ should turn more modern music. And a good animation team, especially John... Karolien 27/2/04
This was a lovely Resort, I had a chance to stay at the Resort with my parents this past June. It was a good way to end my vacation while I was in Kenya and I happened to tell all my friends about this place and they all want to come to Africa now. I would appreciate some type of brochures as some of my friends would like to have a hard copy to plan their holidays with. Excellent place to stay. Stella Njema, Houston, Texas 1/7/04
Stayed at Bamburi for Christmas 2002/3 - would not stay there again. THe staff themselves were great and very friendly ( pizza bar staff very slow) but the management was rude and surly. The location is fantastic and the rooms were nice, very clean. Programme of events for Christmas and New year was excellent, lots of variety and good ideas. We had a big problem with the food though - whilst a great selection was on offer, vegetables, pasta and bakery goods all seemed to be tainted with a kind of metallic taste, fish and meat was good. Management said they'd try to resolve it but nothing happened -they offered us a meal in the Chinese restaurant on site which was excellent - a franchise to the hotel! We weren't the only holidaymakers who had this problem either. It was a shame as it kind of spoiled what would have been a fantastic holiday. We wont be going there agin - this year we are returning to the Travleers Club Hotel, next door which we have visited before and found to be excellent. Fiona 1/7/04
What a lovely hotel. Our 7th. trip to Kenya, our 2nd. in Bamburi Beach Hotel. The staff are great. The food excerlent. I'd reccomend it to everybody. Roy and Georgina Frost 22/7/04
Jambo, Habari! I stayed in the hotel when I was 11, in Nov. 99 and it was (even though being renovated) one of the best and definitely most exhilerating experiences of my life. Not only is the weather and settings natural and stunning, but the hospitality of the staff was absolutely fantastic! I will always remember this experience and thank you all so much, I only wish that this was not in a third world area as the staff seemed to be being exploited and the poverty was abolical. That aside it was utterly perfect. Asante sana Jason Webb 18/11/04

I spent two weeks at the Baobab in March 2002 and one week in March 2001. It is my favourite hotel in Diani Beach. The jungle-like surrounding and the spectacular view from the cliffs is something special. The service is excellent. People are very friendly and after a while they know you all. I prefer the bungalow rooms. Food is really good. Night entertainment is not bad. I will come back. Travelix 15/07/02

Stayed here in a HUGE self catering apartment (two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, three toilets, large living room and kitchen)in the Summer of 2004. Had a fabulous time. Choice of two pools or just walk onto the beach and straight into the sea. Staff are all helpful and made a fuss of our little girl who loved everything about the place. Pirates bar just five minutes walk serves great food and is very welcoming and chilled. Plenty to see and do around and about - Bamburi Nature Trail, Mombasa Town, Crocodile World (can't remember the exact name of it!. Saving up to go back. Michelle Gilliver 11/6/05

I was a volunteer in Bamburi, Mombasa from September to December 06 and the other volunteers and I would often come to the hotel to use the pool and cool down! At the end of my placement my boyfriend came out to see me for a holiday and we stayed at Giriama for most of our time. We really enjoed ourselves and the staff were very friendly. I miss Mombasa and can't wait to go back some day! Lucy 25/4/07

I agree the Hotel is run down. However, just infront of it is the New Kahama Hotel that is fully refurbished and wonderful to stay in. All rooms have brand new split Air Conditioners, new beds, new satellite TV's, new everything. It is a delightful 32 room family run swahili-deco boutique hotel with all modern fittings. It is also located on Bamburi Beach and is it is the most amazing value for money with rooms from $45 or 35EURO. It has a huge pool and great Pub & Restaurant. Definetly worth a visit ! Peter Swan 29/3/07
Perched on a coral cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, the Mombasa otel is only a few minutes away from Mombasa’s Old Town, with it’s narrow shaded streets, it’s harbour and the russet coloured bulk of Fort Jesus dominating all around it. Despite the hotel’s proximity to Mombasa itself, it exudes an air of tranquillity, with huge tropical gardens that provide welcome shade in the heat of the day. Here visitors can relax and unwind, undisturbed by the hustle and bustle of the nearby city. For the more active there is plenty of opportunity for water sports, with a spectacular tropical beach right on the doorstep. Sailing, goggling, wind surfing and safe ocean swimming can all be enjoyed, while the hotel itself has a superb all weather swimming pool and floodlit tennis court.
The Mombasa Beach Hotel has a hundred and fifty rooms and six suites, all of them air-conditioned and facing the ocean. The five dining areas range from maxims a la carte cellar to the informal beach bistro, which nestles on the beach itself. Theres a spectacularly varied programme of daytime and entertainment to suite all tastes.

I am a 16 year old girl who visted kenys a couple off weeks ago ... i would love to go back as i became very close to most of the staff its a lovely hotel and the staff are very helpfull... the hotel is not top of the range but i wouldent go to anyother as the people there are so friendly and nice.. makes u feel like you at home....the only down side of it was the first day i got there i walked onto the beach and about 15 men came over hassling ma and asking 2 bye me i felt very uncomftable and diddent go back onto the beach....but one of the pluss sides what made me very happ was i had a male cleaner and her use to go into the gardens and make me a big bundle of flowers every morning it was very nice...also while i was there it was my birthday and no one new i was sat at the dinner table eating and all the lights went out and all the cheff n his staff and most of the hotel staff came out hte kitchen with a big cake and sang happy birthday to in in swahli i was very nice of them .... i could carry on but illl leave it at that if you eva thinking of goin go its a fab holiday !!!! My family & I stopped here in 1974 as part of a safari/beach hotel holiday we won through Smith's crisps. I was only 10 yrs old at the time, but well remember the spectacular hotel with its beaches of white sand & swimming in the pool in a shirt to combat sun burn. P.Burns 30/10/03
Have just returned from the Mombasa Beach Hotel,(September 2004) we had a lovely stay, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Rooms could do with some renovation, but on the whole they were clean and adequate. The food did leave a little to be desired, although it was varied. The gardens were spectacular, the atmosphere at the hotel was relaxed and friendly. There were activities daily and trips to various places(e.g Dolpin Dhow)if you wanted. The only problem was the beautiful beach, which if you dared to venture on to attracted hassle from the beach vendors. They were a blxxdy menace. However it is worth going on the glass bottom boat which is run through the hotel. Mr & Mrs Tustin 17/9/04
loved and enjoyed my stay. Peter Gedeon 1/9/06
I stayed at the Mombasa Beach on honeymoon in 1985. An unforgetable experience, my happy memories have lasted longer than the marriage. My dream is to return with my daughters,as soon as I am able. Angela Peel 16/9/06
This was my second stay at the Hotel. The accomdation was excellent.
The Staff was super. Everybody treated us with the upmost care. This was our second mission trip to Mombasa and my fourth. I LOVE EVERTHING ABOUT KENYA. The people made us felt like we were home. Everybody that has seen the flyer about your hotel was amaze. Continue doing GREAT SERVICE.Annie Mae Lee 5/10/06
I stayed there in 1983 I just wanted to know if the big shipwreck is still out on the reef . We had a great time , and was wondering if it is still a great place to go to.Please contact me with the information . Jambo Michael Schwenk 21/12/06
We have just returned from a week at the Mombasa Beach hotel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. While it is certainly not a luxurous hotel, it served our needs for a quick week away charging the batteries in the sun. The bedrooms are pretty basic, but we only slept there, they were clean - most impressively were the gardens and the staff who couldn't do enough to help us. The only downside we found is that there are no key safes in the room and by the time we enquired it was too late to have a box behind reception as they had all gone! This was about 30 minutes after checking in, so make sure you do that as soon as you arrive! The other thing which would have been REALLY helpful would have been to have some information about the hotel facilities and amenities in the room, there was nothing at all to tell you about the restaurants, the layout of the hotel etc. Having said all of that, I would definitely go back. Check out the monkeys who come to visit the bins in the late afternoon or early morning on the beach - great fun! Mr & Mrs Hayles 17/2/07
I just come back from the Mombasa Beach Hotel last nite and would consider the hotel as excelent. All the staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The only fault i can pick is the food, the mix is not very clever, but it is traditional African food. I would recommend this as a beach holiday and its definatly one for the kids. Danielle 21/2/07
Located on the silver sands of Bamburi Beach, the Hotel is just a 15 minutes drive from Mombasa - a quaint town steeped in rich ancient heritage. Each of its elegantly furnished, 80 rooms offer a spectacular view of lush tropical gardens or the azure blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Our culinary experts dish out exotic local and international fare ensuring you have a holiday of a life time.
My family and I have just returned from a two week stay at the Neptune Beach Hotel in Mombassa. We have had a brilliant and very memorable holiday ! The hotel has been newly refurnished and it is beautiful : the rooms were spotlely clean, the food generally good and the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Cosmos (the pool attendant ) was extremely friendly and a great asset to the hotel.Yes there was beach boys who did harass you at times : but they are only trying to make a living ! and the safari we booked through Thoma on the beach savwed us nearly 200 pounds and was exceptionally good value ! so do n ot be put of by the rumours ! although all the souvenirs sold on the beach are a lot more expensive ! We did go all inclusive and generally we found it was good value for money although I do feel that there could be a greater election of drinks and snacks offered during the day. On the whole a very good holiday and we will be back next year !!! Claire Wilkinson 16/8/07

The hotel has many lounge areas to sit and relax. There is only one resturant for all meals and one all inclusive bar, which doesn't do good cocktails! However, the staff are wonderful and very friendly, and the rooms nice and clean. Donna 27/9/05

have been going there since 1989 and find in the hotel extremly good service. the staff could not do enough for you i was there in may this year and will go again in november. can hardly wait. the rooms were very clean and the servise was first class. and the restaurants were just a one would expect and even more. mrs m gray 24/7/05

I stayed at nyali beach hotel sept/oct 2006. i cannot fault it It was clean, food was amazing, staff could not do enough for you and was always on hand to help they always had a smile for you and i never saw anything to fault. Best of all i fell in love and hope to return to marry there in the future. Hope hotel remains as good as it is. I think the staff could show many the quality of understanding and humbleness, they all deserve the money they earn. Jean Perkins 19/11/06

To tell the truth this is not anymore a hotel but a disaster. pliz try and renovate it and to keep it clean it is so dirty and with unfriendly workers. the short security man is also very bad he is always fighting with guests when they bring a friend in the hotel sorry to say so but it is better when the truth is out.
As you enter the picturesque guest house grounds, you can see you will be comfortable here. The rooms as you are shown them (the vacant ones, that is) are spotless. The pool is as clean as you can expect, given the numbers of staff. The nets adorning the four-poster bed were not full of holes, and the first night, for the cost, can have 4 to 5 stars. However, on the second night after we had returned from our wedding rehearsal and gone for a swim, we adjourned downstairs for dinner. After 45 minutes, we went back upstairs to get ready for an evening out with my family to discover the room had been entered and the back door opened. We must have disturbed the thief, because all they took was about £15 (local currency), two mobile phones, and a CD player, and took neither of our passports. Did the hotel phone the police? No, they spent more than an hour trying to blame a German tourist and deciding if they would call the police. They only did so when they realised that if they didn't, I was going to! The owner, a "lovely" lady by the name of Pauline, makes all sorts of promises with no intention of keeping them and doesn't think you will come back to collect. If you think a theft like this had never happened before, you're wrong--it happened to someone else the night before. The German she tried to blame lost £1,000 in various currencies, his driver's license, ID card, passport, and Gold Mastercard. We went back to collect a working mobile phone that had been promised--someone had blocked the one given to us, and were told " Hand on my heart. I promise nothing has happened since you left us & went on your honeymoon." As it transpired, there had been two more incidents both involving Pauline and other guests having had things stolen and Pauline threatening them with various nasty possibilities. I will leave the details to your Imagination! DO NOT STAY HERE! HOW DO I GIVE NEGATIVE STARS? Harvey Lilley 25/11/05
Ulrike u. Rainer 22/10/05
We spent two weeks in this hotel in September. We were on holiday to celebrate my birthday and to introduce two friends to the delights of Kenya. The hotel was an idea choice for both. The hotel is quite small but this gives it a charm and you find everyone is very friendly. The rooms are large with safe ,tv and airconditioning provided free. There is also a mini bar where the drinks are the same price as the bars! The shower is VERY large. The food is similar to that in other hotels we have stayed in in the area. There is always a choice of meats ,fish or pasta. The soup is to be recommended..very tasty. The animmation team are very nice and are keen to get people to join in.Evening entertainment is again similar to other hotels in the area,a half hour of dancing, acrobats, singing etc. In the grounds there are two "bedoin" tents where you can relax in candlelight with a drink, or you can go down to the bar near the beach and listen to the ocean! We used the "beach boys" for trips ,as we have done before.Muny and Anton or Shone are very attentive for water trips. We recommend getting out and about and speaking to the locals it will really make your holiday more enjoyable. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. e Lyall 12/10/06

Some cottages on Bamburi Beach on the north shore of Mombasa, some twenty minutes out of town. A little cottage beside with lounge, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom and a verandah to sit on, watching the coconuts fall on the sand in the garden. The garden was a stretch of neatly swept sand, full of palm trees and flowered bushes, which reached down to the edge of the beach and was edged by a small fence to retain our privacy.
The rate for one day is something like Ksh1500 and for one month you pay Ksh 35.000 depending on the cottage you choose. Bruins 31/10/05
Rana Cottages are one of the best cottages I have seen in mombassa. They hold not only a postcard photo view but is also quite private for the inhabitants with a fence around its premises. It was built by the City Mayor Mohammad Ali Rana who also was a practising physician and obe and mbe awardee.Rana Cottages are not only the best place to spend but room rents are also are reasonably priced. There are a lot of new features one discovers on each visit.Iwould recommend it to all tourists.Bon Voyage. Rocky 4/8/06
Rana cottages are a group of cottages which really represent the ambience and hospitality of Mombassa. It is one of those rare places where one is attracted towards it.I would reccommend it to all tourists visiting Mombassa. Qamar Raes 21/8/06
Rana cottages are the best cottages I have ever visited. It is really reasonably charged and is ideally located.A definite visit for all tourists visiting mombassa. Farrukh 6/9/06
I have great memories of growing up with the boys at Rana Cottage. Baber, Sabir, Aunt Amina - they were family. Shame we lost touch, but it's been almost 15 years. I suppose for those visiting Kenya, I can tell you that Rana Cottages was a great place with about six or seven houses and beautiful views and palm trees. The gardener has a stash of coconuts for when you wish to quench your thirst. Omar Sharif 15/12/06
rana cottages was where i stayed when i visited mombassa.it is a very good group of cottages.i really loved it.does anyone have its owners contact no so that i can book it again ???? Robert 19/4/07

I stayed at reef hotel in july 2004 and i loved it. I had a standard room because the supirious had no good ocean view. The supirior room had a fridge which is very handy because i hade medicine that needed to be kept in the fridge,i wish that next time i come there i will be allowed to have a great view and the fridge. The beach boys "hallo my friend" as we called them were very annoying and didnt take no for an answer, i wanted to be at the beach but i could not because i hade to duck them all the time.i really hope that next time it will be better, because reef hotel is great ,very clean ,good food and very lovely workers. Steff 20/10/04

Stayed at the royal court hotel in november.I very much enjoyed my stay there, good quality service at excellent food. i would definitely reccommend this hotel to anyone staying in Mombasa town. Tom Herrington 24/11/06
Situated within Shanzu Marine Park, the hotel lies on a white sandy beach, 18 km north of Mombasa. The hotel is modelled on the famous northern Coast Town of Lamu, and resembles a Swahili village, with tropical gardens and palmshaded lawns. Moorish architecture is evident every corner you turn. Visitors here will discover a tranquility and romance of a forgotten era. The standard of service, comfort and entertainment has earned this gem of a hotel a mention in the "Leading Hotels of the World" list. Dining here is an adventure, with choice of restaurants. The Jahazi Grill specialises in grilled seafood, the Sokoni Plaza in salad and light meals, and the Fountain Restaurant in theme and gala evenings. No of rooms: 166

Wow! This was such an enjoyable holiday!! The ambience which was set out like an old lamu town! The food was superb and so was the service! The rooms had a warm and cosy feel to
it and was cleaned by very friendly staff! For the price their asking for it's certainly worth it! My whole family enjoyed the stay and may i say the glass bottomed boat was fantastic! Need i go on...... Wonderful and enjoyable stay but torn between Nyali and Serena! help me choose!!!!! Akhalif 28/3/04
My husband and i where married on Feb 10th at Serena Beach Hotel, fantastic! Groungs gorgeous, food and hospitality amazing. To top it off we did a three day safari at the Masai Mara staying in the Mara Serena Lodge, best expereience of our lives. No other holiday will ever come close. Debbie and Sean Smith 18/4/04
Stayed at the Serena as part of Honeymoon in 2003, it is by far the best hotel on the East African Coast, with many guests returning time after time. The staff are helpful and attentive without being crowding, the food is exceptional, particularly the hearty breakfasts. The facilities and architecture of the hotel with its Morish arches, airy terraces set it apart from the typical drab hotel styles found elsewhere. The beach here is fine soft sand, no avoiding the pushy beach touts, but perhaps less here than at places closer to Mombassa. Check out the upstairs bar where you can spread out on the cushions under the stairs....bliss.Tony Savage 4/2/05
went to severin in dec 2002 for our honeymoon, staff were supurb food was great the best holiday we have ever been on especially charity she was great a credit to the hotel thanks for a great honeymoon. Spencer 9/7/04
Went to severin September 2005 for our silver wedding annivesary, we were not let down, first class all the way ,staff were fantastic food ,in the 5 resturants was amazing it was plentiful very well presented and tasty, all the hotel and rooms were cleaned daily, the public toilets around the hotel were checked hourly ,gardens and pools immaculate ,beach and walks stunning, we will find it hard to better this holiday and would rate it 10/10 ,however would not recommend for familys ,as it is a relaxing location ,i would say it was best suited for ages 35 years and beyond. Steve Duffin 5/1/06
Have just returned from the Severin Sea Lodge and must say this is a fantastic hotel. It is set in a tropical location with swaying palm trees. The staff are just great, the food is fabulous and all cooked fresh with plenty to choose from, (the pizzas are to die for), the rooms are spacious and cleaned everyday, it has 2 swimming pools, entertainment everynight, and the monkeys are really naughty, but very funny. I would rate this hotel 10/10, I will def. be going back. Would not recommend for families, but for couples and honeymooners or even makes a great wedding location. Debbie 16/6/06

lovely hotel - great staff - rude Operations Manager, demeaning and humilitating to the brilliant hotel staff - needs course in 'people skills' or the sack! Alanna Stead 7/8/02
We were as a party of 22 i was getting married. we have just returned, i must say it was the best holiday ever.excelent, outstanding i cannot describe the words of 21 guests. we all loved it, and want to return. i must say hello to pantello who runs the iman dhow .benson thanks for making sure our meals were more than excelent. charity at the pool bar thanks for all your efforts in making sure our throats didnt run dry.if anyone from severin reads this jambo, thank you all for a wedding and holiday we will all remember forever thank you. Tony Christmas+21 guests 6/3/03
I recently had a weeks stay at the severin sea lodge, the hotel is quite good, the food is very good, unfortunately the service was very poor we were all inclusive but trying to get a drink was a real task! the staff were not very friendly and I certainly wouldn't recommend it. Marilyn Holmes 1/4/03
The most amazing place i have ever stayed. The people are so naturally friendly and helpful and the hotel is beautiful. There is so much to do there you can never get bored. I really enjoyed staying there in January and cant wait to go back in Febuary next year. ruby fuller 4/6/05
We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Sun and Sand. We could not fault it at all really. The staff treat all guests like royalty - even when the guests don't deserve it! The facilities are brilliant and we found plenty to do, despite the location being a bit off the beaten track. Don't be put off the beach by the 'beach boys', they are only trying to earn a crust. Take them up on the opportunity to visit the local villages and you will understand. The poverty is overwhelming. Ask for Marlon on the beach, he took us around the village and was very informative without being pushy. If you can take any children's clothes, exercise books, pencils and rubbers so that the children have something to write on in school, that would be really appreciated. As would any trainers, sandals, watches, mobile phones, t-shirts etc. etc. These people have nothing, and deserve a lot more. The average salary in Kenya is around $300 to $400 per year! - so it doesn't take much imagination to realise that coming from a richer country we can contribute a lot by giving very little. Despite the poverty the Kenyans are really open hearted people and always had huge smiles on their faces. C Limbert 6/6/05
My partner and i visited sun n' sands in november of 2004 and are going back in a couple of weeks, i would recomend this beautiful location to everyone. the staff have permanent smiles on their faces and make you feel so " at home!" the food is wonderful and the rooms are really nice too! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! laura and simon 23/10/05
We booked for Hotel Bamburi Beach because of the good references there, but... later on it was overbooked and so we went (november 2005)to Hotel SUN N SAND. And that was a great surprise!! The hotel was looking better (bigger and more place everywere, very nice garden, good food, nice people). What was not 100%?? The animation team was good but not always present; it's a 4 stars hotel, not a five star as they say), Outside the hotel is a small village with very friendly people. If you ask (front of the hotel) for Ronald or Joseph from Mombasa North Tours you become a very good safari for a nice price. (better than the beach boys) Have a good holiday there!!! Guy & May 25/11/05
We stayed at this resort in the first few weeks of January 06. Absolutely loved it. Make use of the Kayaks and go out into the Indian Ocean, Beach Boys will take no for an answer so don't let them put you off from going to the beach. Room was kept lovely and clean and the food was fantastic, lots of choice with something to cater for everyone. Would recommend this hotel. Definately take lots of books, pencils and Tshirts etc to barter with for the carvings on the beach. Emily 23/1/06
A superb hotel in and idyllic location. Rooms excellent, food not bad, grounds spacious, free sunbeds with mattress and towel, entertainment average. Would go again tomorrow. Please do not worry about the beach boys or the locals out the front of the hotel. Whilst they can appear to be a pain, they are only trying to make a living and a trip too the reef or the local village are not to be missed. (Charlie and Junior are very good guides on the beach). Have a great holiday, Alan Hall 13/2/06

Been going to Sun n Sand now for 21 years, always treated with the greatest respect by all levels of staff , Daniel and Agnes [front desk ] will help with any problem ,The barstaff know most drinks , the waiting staff excellent, food is very good , Animation team great fun , join in the games and have fun , thats the idea of an AI holiday, Beach boys will take no for an answer but do it politely, will never fault this hotel, Our party of 4 go in November & January and go deep sea fishing with Captain Harry from Mtwapa and bring catch back to Kikumbala village, it is always welcome, See you on November 23rd , The bad boys are coming back again . Barry & Lesley Hall 13/9/06
been to this hotel for last 11 years would not bother going anywhere else, always made welcome, rooms clean and well stocked, front desk staff very good espcially Daniel and Agnes, best safari ever done was up to Rift Valley with beach boys who do have insurance , do not be put off by rumours, Hotel charges twice as much for same trip, But this hotel is the best in Kenya, some will disagree, some beach boys can be a pain, but a polite No is all you need, they will not be offended, We are going again this year and will be treated well, join Animation team for fun and games, then join Albert at the Lamu bar for a Kenya Gold or 3, see you soon. Dave & Jean Thackray 13/9/06
Never let anyone say this is not a good hotel I have been going for 22 years now and even have trees planted in special area with name plate , this was done free of charge by the hotel and is a fantastic gesture, always join in the fun, have safari with beach boys, never had problem yet, deep sea fishing available with Captain Harry, go reef walking with beach boys learn a lot about their culture, do not just sit on sun bed and moan there is nothing to do , food is excellent, go to snack bar and see Gambo he looks after your every need,or Albert in Lamu bar for drinks you never heard of, Animation team can always find something to amuse you, Go see for yourselves. Barry Hall 14/9/06
We have just come back from this hotel and it was one of the best holydays that ever have ever had the hotel and staff were great could not do enough for us keyna is a great country Philip & Sandra Stones 18/9/06
Have been to this hotel 27 times in the last 20 years and have never had cause to complain, reception staff are excellent Speak to Daniel or Agnes if something needs doing they will get it done , Susan at Guest services will look after any guests problems no matter how trivial , Go fishing with Captain Harry for a brilliant day out, then relax at night with music from DJ Christian any music you want he has it, Going back in Nov 2007 to see all my friendly beachboy mates, if you do not want hassle just a polite no thank you and they will leave you alone, they are trying to earn a living, Hotel is an excellent choice although it is off the beaten track, but you will return, Barry Hall 19/8/07
We have just returned from a week stay at the Sun n sand , after reading some of the reviews before going I was rather aprehensive as some of the reviews were less than flattering. As a travel agent myself and knowing that these reviews are sometimes not always accurate I went with an open mind not expecting too much. We were pleasantly suprised when we got there , it is shown as 4 * maybe it wouldnt be in the UK but in Kenya its luxury , very impresive lobby and surrounding areas and restaraunts wonderfull views over the pools and beach the gardens are very well maintained and the rooms were fine . I think the staff make the hotel what it is ,nothing is too much trouble they are always smiling and they work so hard. Food was good and varied and drinks always cold and plentiful if you want lay in the bath and notice the tiles arn't quite straight and the groutings a bit shabby then ALL I can say is get a life.enjoy the hotel and the staff and join in and you wont go far wrong WE WOULD GO BACK IN A BLINK OF AN EYE WELL DONE SUN N SAND. Went to sunsand in kikabala i would like to say me and my family had one of the best holidays ever i would like to point out that the staff are the best in mombassa i truly say this hotel is the best in kenya. Roy Nathan 8/6/02
I stayed at the Sun n' Sand in October 2001 when my daughter got married there. It is a very beautiful place and the hotel was brilliant. Great service and food and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The people are brilliant and i would love to go back some day. The wedding was lovely and we will never forget the many friends we made while we were there. Christine Harrison 17/9/02
Definitely not a four star hotel! Two would be nearer the mark! Don't waste your money. Try White Sands instead. Karen Whiteley 24/9/02
Went to Sun 'n Sands about a dozen times during my teens as a "poor white" with holiday money to burn. Had a great time every time, and looking forward to visiting again. It was the location of my first true falling in love.. Frank 10/11/02
We stayed here in Jan. 04. They are overrated in stars. Some nights there were only 45 guests, guess that shows!Staff was friendly, management (Indian) and very arrogant. The a-la-carte restaurants were used by nobody, and they smelled. Entertainment was very clumsy and poor. Drinks bad, food boring. Ine Bok 28/4/04
You try running a hotel when tourism is at rock bottom..... No one will travel because they are scared of terrorism attacks therefore the hotels are doing badly. Staff are badly paid as it is and currently have to work shifts so the minimum staff are covering. This is not just the case for sun and sand its the case all around even in european countries. I went in last year and had a fantastic time. and the manager lovely women helped us when a family member was poorly and helped with local knowledge. Food was delicious and the Entertainment team do very well considering they have to work long hours and trying to get ignorant people involved with the activities. B. 7/6/04
As single traveller I have just got back from Sun'n'Sand I found it to be a great place to stay. Room was great as was the food. Not too many guests but it is their winter season. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. Four pools - one freshwater.
One night main dining room was decorated for conference/dinner and guests were moved to another dining area which the hotel decorated I am sure at great expense to the same standard. A very nice touch.
Management exceptionally good in assisting me with a personal problem where I had to stay a further two nights for which, when I came to pay the bill, there was no charge. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel if you are going to Kenya. Personal Thank You to Kenn Munyeki (Front Office Manager). Dave 22/7/04
We just spent a long weekend at Sun & Sand and were appalled by the service and overall quality. For starters, the airport transfer (included in the package we bought) didn't show up, and the hotel left us waiting on the floor of Mombasa airport for nearly an hour-and-a-half before telling us to just take a taxi...which meant missing the afternoon at the beach. All guests are ordered to wear a garish pink plastic bracelets on their wrist for the duration of the stay in order to obtain the all-inclusive benefits like food and drink, which made everyone look like cows or hospital interns. The all-inclusive food buffets were sub-standard (similar to high school cafeteria fare) - the meat was always tough and dry, the quality of ingredients seemed to be the cheapest available, and the 'free bars' used the worst kind of no-name alcohol in the cocktails. Even the food at the "a la carte' outlets was terrible. The staff constantly interrupted our moments of relaxation with superficial small talk and attempts to convince us to stop whatever we're doing and participate in 'group events'. The hotel discourages visits to Mombasa town (why see any of the real Kenya?) by offering shuttles just twice a week (and charging $35 for a return trip at any other time). The nightly 'entertainment' is loud and tacky and does not allow sleep before midnight. In short, if you enjoy a tasteless place where you're unable to relax and you're fed like cows on the hour, spend a few weeks here! The only favorable aspect was the setting: The 3 swimming pools are gorgeous and the landscape is nice. Daniel 25/10/04
Absolutely fabulous hotel - our fourth stay. Service and food are exemplary leaving you wanting for nothing. Paradise 1st hand, what an experience. Recently refurbished the hotel has just been awarded five star status which they are thoroughly deserving of. Its true u need only take your sun tan lotion the rest is provided. Returning next Feb and just cant wait. For sunny months Oct is good Nov Dec can be showery. Jan thru April is beautiful with high temps and cooling breezes. Anyone that faults this hotel has to be wazzimoo (swahili for crazy, but not sure of spelling) Christine 20/2/05
been twice to sun n sand fantastic times in 98 and 2000. so before re .fit. made some good friends in benard a pool attendant . jacob the scuba diving instructor and george . who knows what he does but v, helpfull. food on the whole was good better in 2000. entertainment may not be las vegas but get in to the spirit and get on with it , your in kenya . don't be afraid of beach boys selling things . befriend one buy some stuff of him and the rest will pretty much leave you alone ,also go on a beach walk with them so much to see, starfish, cucumbers , octopus, coral and more for about 200 ksh. RECOMENDED. Martin 22/2/05
My husband and I stayed at the Sun N Sand in February 2005 to celebrate my 50th birthday. The hotel was great and the staff so very helpful, cheerful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. We loved every minute and cant wait to go back next February. Jan Warburton 7/4/05

We returned just yesterday from a fantastic 14 night stay at travellers club. It was my first time in Africa and was just amazed. A beautiful hotel in a fab location. The staff were all terrific. Ferdinand and Danson (bar staff)to name just two of so many were fab and made us feel really at home. Nothing was too much trouble, even helped us learn some swahili. The memories they have given us will stay forever, certainly till we go again!! Which we definately will. Sharlene/Tony 6/7/04

I had the luxury of enjoying my honeymoon at the Travellers in April 2004, I at times feel I should do it all over again! My wife Irene, our twin tots and I had a time of our lives. The food was great, the staff and their leader Fred Kiuru were kind, the beach clean and exciting, mostly for the children. FRANCIS NGAMBI 6/10/04
Jambo to all our rafikis, Travellers Beach is one of the best hotels at the Kenya coast. Our first visit in Kenya was in the year 1968. We come and come and come. Since the year 1992 we stay in TBH. Our next visit will be in december 2004. The rooms spacious, comfortable and clean. The garden well-kept, the pools varied and maintained. Simple a nice surrounding area. The food great. A super management. Always friendly staffs. A wonderful holiday destination. Come here and have a look. Thank you Mr.Freddie Kiuru, Mr.David Apeli, Mr.Samuel Ziro, your three are great. Thank you family Dhanjal, you are the greatest. We are looking forward to see you again. God bless you all. Kwaheri.

I was my 8th time in Kenya as I was for 4 weeks in the Travellers Beach Club in September 2006 and enjoyed this holydays. Rooms, garden, pools are all very fine and always clean. The food is absolute ok and the service very fine. The whole staff is friendly and supports you in any way. The evening entertainment performed by the Clubs own crew is really a fine idea and simply perfect fun. Reinhard Haidinger 17/10/06
We stayed at the Travellers club in December for two weeks. it was the third time we had stayed at this hotel. The food was disgusting and the same thing all of the time but names differently. the rooms were boring and in need of renovation the tv was limited to sky news and a few local programmes. the reception on same was usleless. The staff were nice but the entertainment was crap when you are all inclusive they put on the worst possible so you do not stay to drink the drink. alan millar 11/2/07
Just returned from a week at Travellers Beach, it was our first time in Kenya and we had a fantastic time. The Hotel was comfortable and clean and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The food was lovely, there was not a lot of variety but it was good quality in the restaurant. The snack bar was a bit disappointing however. The pool was great, very clean and we stayed at the quieter e
