Day long excursions are easily arranged to Mombasa and the Tamarind or Mtwapa Dhows, to Che Shale and the gold sands, with the possibility of a camel ride, and to Ngomeni and the Mangrove Swamps.
The romantic Island of Lamu can be visited for a day or an overnight stay by air from Malindi.
